IIMPACT Australia was established in 2013 to fund the education of the girl child in rural India. We are a small band of professionals, volunteering to raise donations from individuals and foundations. We are regulated by the Australian Charities & Not-for-Profits Commission and all your donations are tax deductible in Australia. Our service delivery partner is IIMPACT in India, established in 2003 as a charitable trust.

Mission

Our mission is mobilise and motivate non-school going girls, between the ages of 6 and 14. We focus on rural areas of India with significant gender gaps in literacy. We deliver educational services via a partnership with IIMPACT India. 

Today there are over 1,500 iimpact Learning Centres operational in 1,500 villages educating over 40,000 girls in 11 States: Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Chattisgarh

Objectives

  • Secure participation in primary education for all girl children not in school.
  • Provide high quality, relevant education through girl-friendly learning centres.
  • Encourage and enable each girl to become an independent thinker and self learner.
  • Make learning joyful.
  • Mobilise and help transform the community.

IIMPACT Australia

Our vision at IIMPACT Australia is to transform the lives of women, families and entire communities through the education and empowerment of the girl child.  We educate 1,200 girls in 40 Learning Centres in India.

IIMPACT India

Our delivery partner is IIMPACT India, operating since 2003. Today there are 1,568 Learning Centres in 1,500 villages educating over 40,000 girls in 11 States. Teachers are recruited locally and trained every quarter. 

How it works

We fund Learning Centres, each with 30 girls, to deliver quality primary education. Parents, teachers and local leaders are engaged to ensure girls are retained through to graduation into the public system after Year 5.
